Syncler

Hi folks,

This is the error I got with the default player when trying to skip to a specific part of a movie, I changed to Kodi as suggested and that seemed to have fixed the issue, however, I didn't like how I remained in Kodi once I stopped the movie (probably a setting somewhere), I then had to close Kodi and go back to Syncler.

I then tried VLC and that seems to work flawlessly, I can skip to any part of a movie and it will just play (still on Wi-Fi)

Thanks again for the help.

Not sure why you have issues with the internal player exoplayer.
I have never seen it before.
You will have to use an external player as suggested.
@thebesh has the same device as yours but they have their’s hardwired not sure they have tried WiFi on theirs to see if they have the same problem with exoplayer.
Have you tried Ethernet connection?

@paulsco you have to add Syncler to favourites in Kodi then click on it when you have stopped playing content.
It will not go back to Syncler automatically when you stop content.
Did you also try Just player as that works well with Syncler and can be chosen as one of the default players like VLC player.
The reason I use Kodi as it doesn’t fail to play any file format unlike most players.
But it’s only really needed for movie remux files.

Cheers mate, I'll have a look at those options and see how I get on.

On my Formuler box (Ethernet)...
I'm using the default Exo player and not changed any settings. I can skip through most videos and it plays fine, jumping 5-20mins is no problem. If I hold down the skip button and push it just over halfway through the video it throws an error....
Source error
javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: connection closed
There's maybe a connection timeout between the player and the server not receiving a response while user is skipping for a longer period. I don't know. I can certainly skip halfway through the film by being less aggressive with the jumps, i.e 5-20min jumps and letting it play a second, then redo. It's not perfect, but it's not a common thing for me to do to be honest.

Same here, some short jumps seem to be fine, but move the slider to 1hr or so and it crashes. VlC player works fine when moving the slider straight to an hour or so into the movie.

The content should resume from where you left off when you stop content part way through so no need to forward to a certain point in the movie/tv episode.
Also try using the mouse cursor function on the remote if you have one on the forward rewind bar that pops up on screen when click on the ok button on the dpad remote instead of using the left and right dpad buttons on the remote for forwarding and rewinding.
No harm in using another player like Just player,VLC and Kodi if it fixes your issue.

I did a bit of testing and I get a similar issue when trying to forward a large amount of time on content using exoplayer.
I think the reason I haven’t come across this is that when I watch content part way through.
I never have to forward to that point as content always resumes from where I stopped watching.
If I ever have to forward a big chunk of time to a point in a movie/tv show I always use the mouse function.
I only use the dpad for forwarding and rewinding small increments of time.

You may want to delete that video due to copyright issues for the forum.

The main reason I have to skip top a certain part of a movie is the Mrs usually only lasts about an hour or so of the movie before she falls asleep, I watch the whole movie and she’ll watch the rest the next afternoon, side effects of getting old 🤣

My Mrs does the same but I usually stop and we finish it later lol.
The only time I get the issue is if I don’t click ok on the remote first and highlight the seek bar.
See video below.
If I try forward a large amount by just pressing the right dpad button first without clicking ok and highlighting the seek bar it fails.

VLC and Just player work fine so I'll just stick to one of them for now.

This for beta version only.
All anime black listed
Jackedup vendor manifest
https://tinyurl.com/3nk34vpa
or bit.ly
https://bit.ly/3JYNWM1

For making a black list url
Then you might want to make it smaller by using tinyurl or bit.ly.
On this link choose Vendor manifest and then scroll down to blacklist.
Click blacklist then click 0 items.
This will bring a list up of providers then you click on the ones that you want to blacklist come out of that and it will generate a URL.
Vendor manifest is only to be used for beta version not stable version.
Use Express package for the stable version.
If you are intending to use both versions don’t mix them up as it will not work.
I can’t make a short URL for stable version Express packages.

JakedUp Package Configurator
Can you help, i set up all Syncler on tv, beta version, and tried
Jackedup vendor manifest
https://tinyurl.com/3nk34vpa
or bit.ly
https://bit.ly/3JYNWM1
click in packages in Syncler, i choose Kosmos, use authorization code, visit syncler.net/install and enter the provided code from the previous step and click Next.
Enter the following package URL , tried the 2 above, but get the message Failed.
i deleted the url, then try another one but get the same message.

That is not the beta version you are using because the beta version uses vendor packages and doesn’t have Kosmos
In settings scroll down and look at version and should say
current version 2.0.0.10. beta

I just wanted to chime in to thank Aristotle for his info on this thread, I purchased Syncler+ last night and was a bit lost when it came to setting it up. Luckily I found this thread and it's made life a hell of a lot easier. (y)
