Syncing up 2 zgemma boxes

Everandy

Newbie
I have a H9S SE but it only has 1 sat tuner and I need more, so a friend gave me his old H.2S with 2x sat tuners. I want to use my existing HDD for both, and allow tuners and timers to be synced between boxes. Is this possible?

Ideally would want both boxes to act like they're 1 system, sharing everything between them, but allowing all 3 tuners to be used between both boxes.

Using OpenATV

Thanks.

So you want to connect 2 receivers to your sat dish , 3 tuners in total and record on your hard drive that's installed on your original receiver. I'd say no as how would the 2nd receiver be enable to mount the hard drive. I may be wrong as better knowledgeable guys on here.

That's correct.

I know I can share the HDD between the 2, just wasn't sure if I could share autotimers and tuners between the 2, as I'm still relatively new to it all.

I briefly remember seeing an option to share tuners, but can't find it now so maybe I imagined it lol
Was hoping any set timers could be synced so that I don't get duplicates if the same thing is set to record on each box.

Quick search and I'll test this on my xt8500 and Vu duo ,

nfs share through fstabs is an option and mount in network browser is an other.

Network browser
menu setup system network

then network browser

click ok on the device u want to use

say the duo

the go to media/hdd

press ok

the setup the mounts most is self explaining

say yes to relace as hdd

and press ok

it will mount

do this to all boxes u want using that hdd

I've not tried this yet and this my be old , but can test tonight or over the weekend

Ah checking your question you already know this , I'll look for sharing tuners

I knew it was possible, but didn't yet know how to do it, so thanks for that.

two boxes sharing the hdd is fairly simple, I have done this, got a VU downstairs with 8 tuners, and a h52tc upstairs, the VU does the bulk of the recording and we then watch at night upstairs.

You would need to set the timers up seperately though, otherwise they would clash, ie both record the same thing.

Thanks.

In that case I'll set main autotimer on the box with 2 tuners, a lot of them are on the same transponder anyway.
