Stremio Alternatives On Apple TV

stekie1

Newbie
Just wanted to throw together a thread on the different Stremio alternatives(All still use stremio addons) that are now available on Apple TV. Up until now the lack of debrid playable apps has been holding the Apple Tv back from being truly great but that is no longer the case. There are currently three main alternatives, all have there pro's and cons. I will outline a bit of context on each here to allow people to make their own choice on what's right for them.

Fusion
This is a new app that is in active development. It is very much the kodi of the three with the levels of customization it offers..

Cost - Currently free
Discord link - Join the Fusion Discord Server!

Pro's

  1. Highly customizable
  2. The App UI looks great
  3. Dev is super active on the discord group and is open to most suggestions.
  4. Sometimes multiple releases in the same week with large features weekly/bi weekly
  5. Ai Search for TV & Movies
  6. TMDB for meta data.
Con's
  1. Not on the app store and currently only available through test flight.
  2. Just for TvOS - No IOS/MacOS version
  3. The amount of customization may be overwhelming and hard to understand for some.
  4. No internal player.
Omni
This is another option that is currently in development. Omni and Fusion share a lot of the same features but are distinct to one another.

Cost - £0.99
Discord link - Join the Omni Discord Server!

Apple Store link - ‎Omni - Content Hub
Omni website - Omni - Beautiful Content Hub for Apple TV

Pro's
  1. Highly customizable
  2. UI looks great(different to Fusion)
  3. Dev is super active on the discord group and is open to most suggestions.
  4. App is on the app store. No need to install test flight.
  5. Has an internal player.
  6. App is super cheap for what is offered(price will go up once IOS/MacOS version is finished)
Con's
  1. Internal player sometimes stutters(Not the dev's fault... KS Player is just a bit buggy)
  2. TvOS only - dev is actively working on IOS/MacOS version
  3. The amount of customization may be overwhelming and hard to understand for some.
Vidi
Last but not least is Vidi. The OG so to speak as it was the first to get approval to the app store. If you're wanting something that is very close to vanilla stremio(with less features) this is good option.

Cost - £5
Discord link - Join the Vidi Discord Server!

Apple Store link - ‎Vidi · Media Center

Pro's
  1. Is fairly stable
  2. App is on the app store. No need to install test flight.
  3. App works on TvOS, IOS and MacOS
  4. Allows syncing across all devices
Con's
  1. Hasn't been a new release since December
  2. Compared to the other two, it lacks features(Could be a positive)
  3. There is some wonky bugs
  4. Dev is not super active like the other two apps(He is still actively working).

I may update this thread with pictures and also maybe reformat a couple of things later but it will do for now. If I've missed anything let me know and I'll add it.

Thanks for this, I have been using all three and at the moment I prefer Omni, the beta version.
I'm a fusion man myself but both omni and fusion are excellent. Great to have a stremio type app with apple! Arguably better than stremio as well in many ways.
