Strange V8S signal issue

Johnbro

Newbie
Hi all,
I've been having a strange signal issue with my box.

Well it's on a second box I want to install.
The first box is connect to sly quad lnb using original coax with compression fittings and works a treat.

When I try to connect a second box to this lnb I get snr 75% but no signal paid or fta?
Maybe it's the cable since I used twist on f-connectors, but wait I just tried it in the neighbours minidish and it works perfectly but will not work on my dish.
So next suspect is the LNB so today I replaced the LNB with a new sly quad lnb and the issue remains with no difference.

Honestly I'm stumped by this it doesn't make any sense to me, Ithe can't be much wrong.
I've installed lots of these boxes without issue and my cline is ace never any problems there?

Any help appreciated guys
Thanks in advance

Try changing the the f connectors going into the box, I'd of been surprised if it was your lnb with the other working great

Try temporary cable from your l.n.b to the box with new f connectors this would rule out a faulty cable

I've tried a new cable and changed the f connectors too.

The new temp cable I ran worked off the neighbours dish but not off my lnb and the neighbours dish is a greater distance from the box so I used an extra long cable and it worked fine so the cable length is not the problem yet it won't work from my lnb

Your dish may need a slight adjustment have you got a decent satellite meter

Haha I just picked up a satlink ws6906 this evening to test it. That's really the only thing it can be as far as I can see.
The fact it works with the well made coax with the compression fittings and not with the twist on fittings, maybe the signal strength is reduced slightly with the push on F connectors ever so much so that I can't get a picture.

I will check the dish tomorrow, I'll keep you updated.
Cheers

Remember when you are aligning your dish your checking for v and h on the e side and v and h on the f side to get maximum signal strength

Thanks for the tip, never used a sat finder before just going to read the manual tonight, all the videos on YouTube are in Spanish of course.
May have a read on here for more info on that

Hi if you have a zone 1 dish which is smaller you could use zone 2 dish which is 60cms for better signal
