Stop IPTV if VPN isnt connected?

I have NordVPN on firestick set to automatically connect but is there anything in Smarters/Tivimate etc I can do that stops IPTV running if not behind my VPN?

My old provider wouldnt work without it so that helped knowing if it was connected or not but my new provider doesnt require it.

Is the kill switch in Nord app?
I dont see it in the firestick nord app setting, only tunneling which I assume is bypassing the vpn.

Im sure my windows app has kill switch options but I dont see it on firestick.


After a bit more research a lot points to the firestick android app not having kill switch.
Is there a way to sideload a standard android version or should I be looking at a new device or vpn provider?

Surfshark has a kill switch on their app for Firestick

Ipvanish has a kill switch app that can be used with their VPN on Firestick

Looks like I may need to move away from NordVPN then..

I did contact my sub provider and he said he can enable "ISP lock" on my account so it wont connect if not behind a VPN, so I asked him to do that for me as a backup just in case Nord app fails at any point.

That’s a good solution.
Then just run your subscription on Nord for now and then you could try one of the others that I suggested when Nord sub runs out.
 
They are both cheap and worth it if you can’t wait for your current vpn to expire.
