So I finally bit the bullet for the bedroom zgemma and replaced it from an H2S to a H7S.
I now have 2 x H7S boxes, one with 2 x Sat and 1 x TV signal, the other just 2 x Sat.
Both boxes are able to view and play the recordings of the other box.
The H2S is surplus but fine. I do have another remote room that is network enabled, a bar/summer house at the end of the garden. Currently I use Kodi on a firestick to be able to access the channels and movies from the first H7S box. It works but it doesn't have the 'wife approval rating', too complicated.
So the question:
Is there still a good use of the trusty old H2S as a slave box, with it just streaming the content from another box. Just the movies from either box through network mounts? Or even the channels over the network if thats a thing?
Which build or standard veriosn is best for that? OpenATV whatever the latest or last release is/was? No need for anything fancy, other than the same skin as we use elsewhere.
Be a shame for it to go in the cupboard never to be seen again before finally ending up at the tip...
