Spoofing my MAC address

Hi, I'm using a firestick with smarters (connect using a VPN). Been using the same sub for years, but when I renewed this time there was a mention that they only allow one device based on Mac address and that offenders might get blocked. I also tend to connect via a tablet. Is there a way around this?

I have seen ways of doing it on a rooted device but maybe not what you might want to do as you can brick your device.

Depends on provider.

Are you sure that's the case ?
As normally the rule of thumb is you can have it on multiple devices BUT can only use the sub on 1 device at a time, and yes if used on both devices at the same time (if you have a single connection sub) then it would get blocked / banned.

Using a Mac address restricts it to one device only. Unless you can give devices fake macs

Yes I am aware of if using mac to connect the sub, that restricts it to only 1 device.

However I thought he said he was using a firestick as a device, so couldn't quote understand why he would want it connected in mac address.

I thought he meant his supplier has suggested or he assumed he can only use on 1 device that's it.

IMO a few incorrect responses above as members may have overlooked subs that are uploaded onto mac based apps such as IBO/Duplex, etc.

What app have you been restricted to?

Hi, sorry for slow reply, I'm travelling at present. To answer all your questions, I haven't tried it on other devices yet so don't know if it's just a bluff. There's no app restrictions as I'm using stream codes to log on (without using Mac address). My understanding is that they are checking what mac address I'm using when connecting... They didn't mention it was if used across multiple devices simultaneously so yeah I'm a bit surprised...

As long as you are not connecting two devices simultaneously I don’t see why they would stop you switching devices.
For example watching on a tv, tablet or phone upstairs as opposed to watching on a tv or other device downstairs.
I think that is reasonable use of a one connection sub.

That is what I'm thinking too... I think I will try it, they might have meant simultaneously..

I don't know where the confusion lies, in your OP, you said of the provider "they only allow one device based on Mac address"
FWIW, they probably won't be able to tell what device is using it, only that the same mac address is in use

@JackMehov
Internal ip addresses of devices are not seen publicly and are only visible to your network.
The only ip address seen publicly is the one your isp assigns you or a vpn ip address you might be connected to.
Generally, the MAC address of your device is not seen publicly either.

So the answer is basically what I suggested in the first place.

Mac ad on smarters I’m unsure? Ip address under one roof is fine on numerous devices/ not at same time on single sub.. stbemu u could/ can duplicate the mac to also use on multiple, would need a convert request xc/ M3u-mac… however these days the provider can pick up the software id, which may block:-(
