This guide will show you how to get to the Sky+ Digital Set Top Box – Secret Engineers Menu.
Defragmentation
Data is stored on a hard drive, much like your home PC. This data can sometimes become fragmented, especially as you constantly add and delete data when recording your favorite programs. Defragmentation reorganizes the files on a disk to optimize the drive. This should not affect any of your recorded programs or settings
To access this hidden feature:
• Press Services on the Remote
• Scroll to System Setup
• Press Select
• Scroll down to Sky+ Planner Rebuild
• Press select
This should now activate the defragmentation process. Once completed leave the box on standby for 10 minutes, this is important to allow the system to complete the process.
If you cannot access this feature, you may need to download the latest software to your sky digital box.
Software Update
To carry out a full software update, turn the power off, press and hold “backup” on the digibox NOT the remote, plug back in and wait for all the lights to come on. You should now receive a message on screen informing you of the update. If this has not resolved your problem, it may be necessary to perform a full system reset.
Full System Reset
This will erase all your recorded programs series links and reminders in your planner.
• Press Services
• Scroll to system setup
• Press Select
• Now Press 0 then 1 on your Remote
• Press Select
• Scroll Down to Full System Reset
• Press Select Twice
A full system reset could take several minutes, don’t panic if the box does not switch back on immediately. Once completed leave the box on standby for 10 minutes, this is important to allow the system to complete the process.
