Samsung's Tizen OS...

Pelter

Newbie
My man has gone missing, for no good reason I'm guessing. So as I've chronicled, I've not long had a Samsung 65qled, and what now appear like downsides have just become apparent.
In the apps, there's no alternative to the Samsung browser that they run on their mobs - reminds me of the handcuff days of AOL.com in the early days of the net ...or the one truth of Jesuits. There's no way to install or run a VPN, and in this new setup, theres's no way to sideload anything.
My firestick has mysteriously bricked ( and I wonder if its related to my fellow's 'disappearance).
When I attempted to revive said stick, it became apparent that Samsung list every set-top box or game player that they 'allow' - that must surely have implications.
I'd welcome comments on any other implications that strike home, given it's flagged up that Tizen is being sold as an OS to other smart tv manufacturers.
...Or a maybe a work around if there is one.
Nothing that previously related to their Android works in relation to developers mode, and there's nothing that even hints of a workaround with the usual online suspects.
