Recording to SD using Tivimate on Formuler Z11

Hey Guys,

I appreciate recording with IPTV is hit and miss, but something which stuck me as impossible to get working today was recording to my SD card! When I change the directory within Tivimate, I get a message “Failed to changed the recording folder”, with limited space on my boxes storage, recording to an external media would be more ideal!

I wondered if anyone has successfully managed to set is up with Tivimate and a formuler Z11 pro and how you did it, cheers.

I've never been a fan of using SD cards in android or enigma 2 device's no end of people seem to have issues even with genuine ones. A genuine SanDisk USB rarely fails from experience.

Why buy a Bently then fit a Ford engine then complain it will not perform like the Bently.???
 
I had similar problems trying to record on z11 with various devices and was was ready to return it to the retailer then,l decided to have another go at it with a 240 GB Kingston SSD in an external case formatted to FAT32 (yes fat32) and now it records every thing l ask it to.

I was going to start a new thread but it prob fits here. I’ve ordered a z11 pm and have got a Samsung pro plus 256gb card that I may as well try to get working! I’ve seen on the formuler site that the card needs formatting but it only has instructions for pc and rufus and I use a Mac mini. The card would be dedicated to the z11 but how do I format it (will that even help?) using the mac to work on z11?
Instructions for an intelligent 10yo should suffice! Tvm

You can use Etcher to format your SD card as exfat so it supports larger files

Ok so formatting on the Mac was a peace of piss, found a card reader and disc utility reformatted it so I’ll see if it works when I get it up and running over the weekend. I’m aware recording iptv is a bit hit and miss. 1 def good thing tho is that my back up memory (for mac) hasn’t worked for 6 months and doing this has made it work again! I’ll update in week to say if recording works on z11.
 
First off it’s ‘piece’ ffs! So put card in and said it was wrong format (I’d done it exfat) and it offered to format it so it did, I recorded something and it worked. Basically it’s all done for you and If I can suss it then anyone can!
 
I’ll round this up as I think it has a bit of value for newbies. I’ve put both my new iptv service and the z11pm with Mytvol3 through their paces and both have performed very well. I’ll keep it to memory and recording and so far I have recorded and viewed a vod at same time, recorded and watched another channel (4k) at same time and recorded in advance when box is off and all with few issues - just a bit of stutter but nowt to concern. Another feature which I used with virgin was watching (sport) recordings on double speed and I can do this on the z11 as well. The only thing I haven’t sussed is pause and rewind live tv.
