Recommended Players

I'm currently using tivimate, is it still the most recommended player to use or do people have better recommendations.

They all do pretty much the same sane thing its more about layout. I bet quite a few like sky glass type apps if there supplier has it

Yes I'll have to have a look into that see who's providing that sort of service I wouldn't mind something like that to be honest.

But like you say they all do the same but was just wondering if anything had come out recently that is highly recommended.

The one that's always had the most bells and whistles is IMplayer that is constantly getting new updates aswell

I haven’t tried anything better than Tivimate, though doesn’t have the time shift feature and cloud based access like some other players.
I do have iMPlayer but still prefer Tivimate.

I'm a full newbie to this and saw on reddit that they had a sticky guide for beginners. they recommended tivimate paid version, no questions asked. I've been on it for the past few days and don't see the hype.

having said that, I haven't used any other players but they all seem to be much of a muchness.

All the decent ones work better if you pay for the premium features.
If you aren’t that happy with Tivimate I doubt any of the others will impress you.

There's a decent free app on Apple TV called Tivi.one that is pretty good

yeah, I did follow the recommendation and have gone for the paid tivimate for the first month. maybe it's my lack of experience, or maybe the others are even worse?

not to denigrate the expertise of those that make these players, I'm surprised that so far into the lifetime of IPTV that there isn't a player that has been made to mimic sky/virgin/Apple TV etc.

I think it’s down to what you get used to using.
I have been using TM for several years and have tried other players but always go back to TM.
It’s going to be difficult to compete with a dedicated device with custom software from companies like sky, virgin etc.
