Get the Best IPTV Service
Pulling My Hair OUT | Techkings
Hi folks,
I’m looking for some real sound advice as I am losing the will to live, I have recently sold my house to live in a lodge which is on a 12 month holiday site. The internet situation is a ballache, the internet the site provides is criminal with speeds of 1mb at peak times! Watching IPTV is impossible, I’m looking at other options currently but I’ve heard those 4G routers are just as bad with throttling so I’m not keen on getting one of those. So I have a few questions:

is there another options aside from IPTV that you recommend I could use to watch live football? E.g motorised dish?

if WiFi/IPTV is the only way then can anyone recommend what the best way is to get fast reliable internet without a landline to watch IPTV in my lodge?

thanks for your help guys

Find out from neighbours who provides fastest 4g

Take short sim only deals and use your phone as a WiFi hotspot to check speeds when football is on

If good, invest in a WiFi router and longer term sim for better value

Consider an outdoor aerial for the 4g router to maximise speed and stability

You require a good internet speed and its as simple as that. What is the signal quality like on your mobile data

ive spoken to my neighbors and they have a 3 4g router and they say they get speeds of 14mbps during the day but at peak times they get 5-10mbps, this is where the problem lies as IPTV would struggle with those speeds and most likely buffer!

Thanks mate, can you tell me more about the outdoor aerial you mentioned?

Can you not use a 4g router to improve speeds if where you are going to live offers shite speeds

I've seen Huawei routers bud I put my virgin 4g sim in a router and can peak to roughly 50-60mbps but depends on surroundings ect

Your going to need unlimited data

Three Are doing some good deals at the moment but check signal coverage in your area

Pay Monthly SIM Plans - Unlimited Data SIM | Three

Whatever 4g/5g router you get make sure you can attach a Yagi style external aerial for it. The external Ariel can be aligned to the nearest mast for better signal strength .

Obviously the better the signal strength the better the speeds.

Example of one.

The reason I suggested things in the order I did was because you don't want to buy a 4g router and aerial if speeds are so slow that you still won't achieve sufficient speed to stream, hence the suggestion to speak to neighbours and trial sim cards.

You could actually do a speed test on your current mobile in the lodge and let us know what the result is and we can advise from there.

You’re a lifesaver, any suggestions on best routers that are compatible with an outside aerial?

Agree with above aerial , I use one . You need to make sure router has removable aerials , make sure it’s has the same connections as the aerial You get. Router I have is. https://www.amazon.co.uk/technology...d=1&keywords=Mr600&qid=1620052230&sr=8-3&th=1.
unless you can directly see the mast get an omni directional aerial. The aerial above comes with 5m of cable , for signal quality it’s best not too extend it unless really necessary . I took my router outside plugged into a long extension lead with its own aerials on and walked around to find where I got the best signal quality. Then put the aerial as high up a pole as possible.
You need to check which supplier gives the best to your area View mobile availability - Ofcom Checker
secondly ...you shouldnt be living on a holiday site , it should be a residential site , if it is a holiday site you could get kicked off.

My brother uses a 4G TP link router. It's a decent router with the antennas to boost the signal.

Generally he gets good speeds but main issues he has found nearly every day the speeds drop considerably be it afternoon or in the evening. Which then causes issues with buffering etc.

Outer factors are likely the main issue but he hasn't got a top quality 4g router so that could be another reason why he encounters issues daily.

Have a look at Starlink

May or may not be in your area. Still new but think this will help a lot people out in your type of situation once they are all up in the sky.
