Hi,

Please can anyone help with a channel question on my Openbox V8s..... I seem to have lost my sports channels (1 to 5 + sky formula 1). They are simply showing up as scrambled but all other channels work ???

I have upgraded the channels using Cwaites website but they are still missing ??

I use the same line on a zgemma and the channels are present on that box ?

Am I doing something wrong ?

On the Openbox it states I can update channels and firmware using USB and online via the box. The firmware is up to date and I have tried both ways to update the channels but still no sports ???

Please can you help ??

try to rescan all channels if that don't work then try a different channel list like AJ's

Try this

1. Download latest TP_PROG.dbs file from Cwaites or AJ, copy to root of USB drive, and insert USB drive into satellite receiver
2. Press "Menu" button on remote
3. Press left/right until you find "Edit Channel"
4. Press "Delete All"
5. Press left/right until you find "Tools"
6. Press "Upgrade by USB"
7. Press left/right on "Upgrade Mode" until you find "Misc Files"
8. Press "Select & Upgrade"
9.Press green button on "TP_PROG.dbs (Sat,TP,Prog)", you will see a green tick
10.Press yellow button to upgrade
11.Reboot satellite receiver

have you asked your server provider if there having problems another way to no its nothing your end is to try a test line if the $ channels clear you no where the problem is.

Yes, as I said I use the same line and it works fine on my other box ?

Ive tried deleting them all and adding Cwaites list but still missing. In fact had problems getting it past saying no channels so had to update the channels via network instead of USB. Could this update be the problem ??

No problem with network upgrade---server is 100%.
Go to menu----antenna settings---single sat scan------go down list and set for blind scan then scan all channels-----now work your way thru channel list to locate the ones you want and then you can transfer to your favourites.

Ive done network upgrade and channels are still missing ??
My favourites list seem to be generated automatically as I have never selected individual channels to place them in there. I actually press the favourites button instead of the EPG on the Openbox as i have problems with the EPG updating even though its set to automatically update (But that problems for another day !!)
At the end of the scan it just ends. Where do I go then to find the list of channels ? Edit channel list ??

By doing it that way Reaper do I have to make a full new favourites list up ? If I update using network it sets a favourite list up for me. Is there no way of just adding channels to that already made up list ?
I did a scan as you say, found some sky sports channels that worked ie channel 575, 578, 579 but ill be honest with you I went to channel edit and favourite edit and tried to follow your instructions but couldnt find a way of typing in that channel number to add it ??

You are almost there so persevere and give yourself a pat on the back-----it's not an easy thing to follow instructions when you are new to this.

The only problem I have found with that though Reaper is when I do a blind scan the sports channel numbers are different from one scan to another ???

So I delete all channels, reboot my system, update by network, then do blind scan,find channel numbers, go to edit favourites, delete sports channels currently in place that dont work, then replace them with sports channel numbers ive just obtained through scan ??
Does that sound about correct ???

hi reaper you seem to know your stuff i bought a line in november from someone and i found yesterday and today a lot of channels went missing so i downloaded new upgrade from cwaites deleted all my channels and the upgrade wont work i have n o channels at all now i contacted the person i bought the line from and he said something about sky have changed the encryption code or something so i emailed him back and told him i have no channels at all now what do i do to get the channels that do work back but he hasnt replied do you have any idea how to do it i would really apprerciate any advice or help you could give me thanks x

tried re booting nothing no channels at all and the files im putting on my usb are not upgrading and putting the channels bacvk on, really not happy to be honest the bloke i bought the line off didnt warn me id lose channeks cvcus encryption code had changed and now ive deleted channels to upgrade but upgrade not working so now got no channels :(
