password protected folder

Anyone know if you can use a password to protect a folder, keep it locked.
The above link doesn't support Win 11, looking for software preferably free to use
i have a portal hard drive 'WD Elements SE' looking to use something to block excess to folders, as i said the only thing i could find was the link above.
But only for Windows 10/8.1/8/7/Vista/XP/2000

Do you have bitlocker? I think you may be able to use that if you go into the folder properties and advanced
Or you could always make the folders hidden instead

BitLocker is also my recommendation, it's integrated into Windows 11 Pro and Enterprise.

Alternatives: VeraCrypt, 7-Zip, AxCrypt, Folder Lock.
