Openbox X5+ Rebooting

Wondering if anyone can help me, i have a Openbox X5+ box and for some reason it keeps rebooting itself, i only got the box yesterday and it was working fine to start with, but now it gets to the logo screen then reboots and keeps doing that, really hope someone can help me with this as i literally got the box and an hour later it was doing this, it seemed to start after i put some updated channel lists on the box but not sure if that would of caused this?.
 
cut a small peice of copper off the coax cable that connects to your openbox. if that dose not work re-flash the firmware.

What will that do bud, and where can i get the files from to re flash it and can you do that with USB as i dont have a null modem cable or a laptop close enough to the box to do that?.
 
try cutting a small peice of copper off the coax cable first. basicly what happens is the copper touches parts that it is not supposed to and restarts your box. it will fix the problem in most cases.
 
Oh right i see, so what do i exactly have to do then, sorry if i am acting dumb here, if this fixes the problem i will be so happy this has been driving me nuts. :(
 
the coax cable is the cable that connects your skydish to your open box. unscrew it from the back of your box and take a look you will see a small peice of copper wire inside the metal housing just cut a small peice of this copper wire off.
 
I have just clicked on and i am trying my box without the cable connected so it takes this out of the problem, was excited then that i may have found the fix. :(
 
if you took the cable out of the box and it boots up that is the problem i discribed. if not you will have re-flash your firmware.

Yeah what I meant is I have no cable in at the moment, only the hdmi one and the power and it keeps rebooting so can't be the coax problem, how do I flash this box could you give us a hand with that, would love to get this box going it's been a pain since I bought it, much appreciated.
 
I bought it from a private seller so prob wont accept returns back, and it was only since i tried updating the channel lists on it, i installed them, rebooted it and then had this problem, i have tried booting from a USB but keep getting a (Check file error) when it gets to 100% so guessing its the wrong file.
 
So what you think guys, should I just chuck this box and get a new one as I originally wanted the Skybox F5S or can this box of mine be fixed?.
 
Do you have a guide or instructions how to do it, also where do I get the firmware from to flash it as I've searched online and can't find nothing for the Openbox X5+. Thanks.
