openbox v8s signal

hi got the openbox v8s its 99% connected but getting a no signal coming up ontv with an snr reading of 10% any ideas how i can solve this sorr if posted in wrong place im a newbie and finding my way around lol :)

Are you sure that only one cable from dish to lnb in and not into loop.
Have you ticked No15 in sat list.
Is lnb power on and set to 9750--10600

Hi Reaper.
I have the same issue, however after all the above mentioned troubleshooting I am still getting no signal.
I can only think of one of two things, either its the satellite itself or the lan port as gone.

The no signal came suddenly yesterday while I was watching football.

• I have updated firmware (correct version)
• Checked the lan cable as well as the internet connection.
• Checked the above
• Done the weather check app with no luck

I feel it may be time to buy a new openbox.
Unless I am missing something?

The FTA channels aren't work either BBC, ITV etc, which is odd as they always work even when the gift is offline.
All my channels are showing no signal.
The line/gift is online and I received an email from my supplier saying he had no issues on his side.

Look at the front panel of your open box--if you see a feint red led or a feint 8 then your box has died and you need to plan a funeral.

There is a feint red led. Funeral preparations are under way.

If you can afford a few extra quid Wayne, get yourself a zgemma. I switched from an openbox, and the difference is night and day :)

I have a similar issue,I have a v8 box which I've had for a couple of years and have just moved house and it won't work on on my satellite dish at new house no FTA no signal have checked on no 15 sat ,right power plug ,not in loop even checked box at old house and it worked,satellite is new as previous resident had sky into bedroom (I had to reroute it to front room)any help would be greatly appreciated!

Check what LNB installed.
Who is your broadband supplier?
Have you removed websafe etc from your modem.?
Finally--are there any fta channels working?

No FTA, tentel broadband, don't think there's any controls,would that affect FTA?
the dish and lnb are basically brand new,don't know the exact model presume it's what sky are currently fitting!cable looked really cheap though no actual foil just silver coating!

If it's a sky q dish it will need a different LNB fitting to work with your box.

Could be as was routed in to bedroom and I presume slung downstairs via wireless or something!
I could still take lnb from old place,are they easy to remove and would it work with my dish or would I need to swap whole dish?

Yep, just swap with your old LNB, i think they are just held in place by a plastic pin :)

Even if you have to buy a new LNB, they are cheap enough on ebay. Just make sure you get a Hybrid one though :)

Make sure if your changing your l.n.b you check what the skew setting is the two arrows between the legacy adapter and l.n.b will be lined up between 2 3 3 4 depending on your location if you skew angle you will lose 20 percent of your signal

I presume Skew setting is the round clamp thing held by a screw?
Changed lnb over got FTA channels so a step in right direction!
