Openbox V8S customisation (Background, configs, var/etc folder?)

Hey there,

Received my openbox today and I was under the impression that I would be able to either ftp, telnet or connect via a web GUI or something to see the file structure and config files on the device?

Is any of this possible? Mainly I want to be able to customise the background and possibly even try customise some of the OSD Menus. Is this done via some config file or is it firmware based?
