Openbox V5s and skybox F3

Got a problem with the openbox in that it a lot of the channels are now scrambled! Some of the sports channels are ok and gold and others I have the skybox in another room and it works perfect, have tried the openbox on the skybox cable and the fault is still there, tried the skybox where the openbox was and everything is ok!with the sky box Which proves the Lnb is ok, have taken the channel list off and put it back on and still the same, the same list is on the skybox and has no problem, any ideas?

Have you actually tried the Openbox on it's own, with the skybox disconnected from the LNB?

It may be that you need the "no signal fix" from Ebay, if you want to use both boxes at the same time.

Yes the skybox is disconnected and still have the fault. Up until last night both boxes were perfect

Just checking and have noticed that on the channels that are working, when I press the info button on remote the info bar includes mepg1 576 Mepg and on the channels that are not that info is not there, does that mean anything?

Might be worth trying deleting all channels then reloading The only other thing you could try is a factory reset but make sure you have a copy of your line first

You can always check by taking the line from the F3 and try in the V5s.

Tried that! Sorry for delay in getting back on, have tried box elsewhere on a different line and just the same. Is it worth trying a factory reset? Is there anything to worry about doing that, I have copy of line and channel list, an idiots guide might be handy if anyone can tell me how to do it.

Tried what Tich suggested and followed instructions press menu / tools / factory reset it says it will load default & erase channel list / do not select anything & click blue button, it says saving data but everything is as it was! Ie same channel list as I put on. Am I missing something? I was under the impression that I would have to put a new channel list on.

If you have tried all above advice then you should assume the worst---the channel list has corrupted the firmware [you may have used an unformatted usb key]. If this is the case then try formatting key to FAT32 then put a fresh downloaded list onto key and try a reload. If still no change then you will have to upgrade [reflash] your firmware.

Oh Dear! Just after I got the box I backed a few things up, must have known! and checking I find a FxS_Backup.abs file size 4096kb is this what I need?
