Nvidia Shield TV 4K

I see a lot of post on here that recommend the Nvidia Shield TV 4k but I do not understand how they can be any better than the 4K Firestick or a Formuler Z10/Z11. Surely its down to your service provider and your sub provider, and not the actually streaming device you use?
After all if the internet supply is poor then any machine will cause stuttering, jerking and slow speeds, so spending 200 bucks on a machine that is going to have as many issues as a 40 buck machine is just a no brainer.

You’re right that a good provider and solid internet are key, but the device also matters. Higher-end devices like the Shield TV offer better hardware, faster processing, and smoother app performance, which can enhance your experience, especially with 4K streams or advanced apps. Cheaper devices can work fine but may struggle with heavy loads or future updates.

I thought like that over a couple of years...having spent more than a few 100 quid on buying newer firestick as the old was getting slow...then bought a shield and 3 years later ...guess what not a single upgrade needed ..shield still going great...better value in the long run.

Much less bloat on a Shield pro it still gets updates 3 gig of ram and a quick CPU.

Firesticks eventually grind to a halt im sure its amazons way of selling the latest model. But at a 3rd of the price of a Shield Pro a bargain and the lower amount and ram and slower cpu does not really make a difference for IPTV. The Shield is overkill for a IPTV app.

The shields are decent I had 2 along with buzz devices firesticks ect if just for iptv then it's a big price tag to pay but if into gaming then it's a no brainier.
Now a lot more devices are upscaling and more iptv content in 4k so the main feature on shields when they was first around (upscaling) isnt the main selling point now.
Firesticks are OK but amazon always finds a way to tinker with them also need factory resetting from time to time and same as I always say there's a lot better devices then firesticks for iptv

Thanks all for your information which is most informative.
Yes I only watch iptv for live sports events that are not on mainstream TV like EPL 3pm kick off's etc
Thanks again I'll stick to my Firestick 4k and Z10 pro

Shield with projectivity launcher get srid of the bloat ware and speeds it up. It looks superb now. I have 2 4k firesticks in the house but the shield is the main medi consumption device.

I’ve only recently got myself the shield pro and I don’t regret it. Yes I only use it for iptv, Spotify, youtube etc but it’s my main device I use on my tv. I’ve used iptv on Firestick, windows pc (using bluestacks, android emulator) and I’ve used many different iptv apps over the years on the Firestick and pc. However the best combo I have used is Tivimate and nvidia shield. Just runs perfectly, and yes your iptv service provider and internet have to be upto par.
