New Sky Sports+ channel launching 8th August

The service’s launch coincides with the start of the new EFL football season. During the opening weekend, every game from across all three divisions – the Championship, League One and League Two – will be streamed live.

For traditional TV viewers, the Sky Sports+ linear channel – replacing Sky Sports Arena – will act as an additional outlet for live sport.

EE TV channel 427 SD / 447 HD

For streaming TV users, Sky Sports+ will offer extra live streams. This means multiple events can be shown at the same time, similar to how events like the Olympics are streamed.

You’ll need to be connected to the internet to stream additional Sky Sports+ content, including alternative EFL games.

'Additional content', basically they are renaming Sky Sports Arena to Sky sports+, then additional content, ie for all league games, will work similar to BBC red button but you will need internet as they will be streamed and not through the dish.

They've been doing this with rugby league since February.
All games shown at same time but a fee is payable for the superleague+ app.
The app shows all live games but not the main game, anyone with an Internet connection can use the app but the major game each week is only on sky sports arena

It will not work with any of the Sky Sports+ streams, you will only get access to the linear content via the box.

I haven’t seen any mentions whether these extra channels will be available on Sky Go, as a possible workaround.

Older non-Sky Q satellite receivers are not compatible with the streaming element. This means it won’t be possible to select a live match if it’s streaming only. The only option will be to watch games shown on an existing traditional Sky Sports broadcast channel.

Its no big deal but nice to know. I can cancel my sub and use the fact I cant get full value as the reason. I don't like sky q new lnb and all that malarkey.

Each season, Sky Sports will broadcast a minimum of:

• 328 Sky Bet Championship matches
• 248 Sky Bet League One matches
• 248 Sky Bet League Two matches
• All 15 Play-Off matches
• All 93 Carabao Cup matches
• All 127 EFL Trophy matches

Two Carabao Cup Round Two ties have been selected for broadcast live on Sky Sports Football.

• Birmingham City v Fulham (Tuesday 27 August, 8.00pm)​

• Nottingham Forest v Newcastle United (Wednesday 28 August, 8.00pm)​

For the first time ever, all Carabao Cup matches this season will be available for fans in the UK to watch on Sky Sports. However, games will not be available to stream internationally.

The remaining games games will be available to watch on Sky Sports+.
