Need help with aerial splitters!!!

Bit of help needed here, see the doubled aerial cable running from my sky dish to my openbox/sky box is there anyway I can run that cable to my openbox and my sky+ HD box? I'm Keeping my basic sky subscription for sky + and on demand. The openbox was mainly for sports

I dont know if you have the same dish set up but I have 3 cables coming from it; 2 run into my living room into the Sky +HD box and 1 ran into my bedroom (previous owner). I decided to connect my f5 box to the cable in the bedroom upstairs, used 2 powerlink adapters for the internet connection and was able to watch the footy in the bedroom. I've just tried it again and it works, I was able to watch Sky 1, Gold, BBC1 and On Demand downstairs and watch any channel on the f5 box upstairs.

Unlike cable, you cannot use splitters for satellite feeds if you want to use both boxes at the same time..

The boxes send signals to the LNB to control hi/lo frequencies & horizontal/vertical polarity, so if you used a splitter there would be conflict.

You need another seperate feed to the LNB.

please stop calling it a AERIAL cable, its not , its a coax cable

also posted loads of times about running skybox (real) and other boxes that can lead to no signal problems or low problems.

Hi Satman
Interested in your advice on the above, running real Sly box and F5, can you advise me further please?

Sometimes (but not always) when a $ky+ box & openbox/skybox are connected to the same LNB (even thought they are connected to their own individual ports), the vertical channels on the openbox/skybox show "no signal".

It can be fixed with a diode in line with the LNB feed. They are available on Ebay if you search for "no signal fix".
