Multiroom Advice

Hi all. I’m new here and looking for some advice so I dont make a wrong choice. My Sly contract is due to expire soon and there’s no way I’m paying what they are asking for nowadays.

I’ve made the decision to get a Shield Pro for my main TV but i also require getting something else for my bedroom. Currently have SlyQ multiroom. I’ve seen you can get more than 1 connection for a sub, however I don’t want to have to get 2 Shields so want something else for the bedroom TV. Is there anything I need to be aware of regarding compatibility between devices or is access to a sub with 2 connections fine and I dont need to worry about what 2nd device I get?

Thanks in advance

Your provider will be able to advise you on this.
Almost all providers will let you use the sub on android devices, so you can use a firestick or other cheap android device in bedrooms etc, and also on your android phone when away from the house

Would also add that you don't necessarily need 2 connections unless you plan on watching on both TVs simultaneously. 1 connection usually means any one device but best to check with the provider. So ideally with 1 connection you should be able to watch either on your primary tv, secondary tv or mobile at any given time.

Thats a really good point. It’s pretty rare we ever have both on at the same time

It's probably not worth bothering with in 90% of cases.
If you have grown up children/teenagers who watch a lot of films/box sets etc it may be worth having, other than that it might be overkill, people think they watch more tv than they actually do, the majority of what the masses watch is on freeview and freesat

If your second TV is a smart TV depending on make and brand there maybe an app available for you to use saves buying two devices
