Not come across this one before but a bit of reading reveals 3 main culprits.
Car battery
Brake light switch
Software update.
If you got access to a scanner get it plugged in and see if theres any fault codes stored
I have a cheap bluetooth one that some times picks up the "fault codes" i'm going out, will have a go in a bit, if not I can get it plugged in at a garage. thanks mate
The brake light switch should be located at the back of the pedal ok
Not sure if its a plunger type switch and sometimes they can get jammed or the contacts wear out.
more likely the state of charge (soc) of the battery, if they fail below a threshold for s\s it wont work even tho the battery is working as normal, leave it on charge over night and retest
