MacBook. Clicked on scam link.

My BIL got an email today a week after he renewed his car tax. It said his payment had not been processed correctly.
He clicked on the link and it just hung for a minute. He googled, realised it was a scam, and shut down his MacBook.
Could anyone tell me what he should do next please, I don’t know anything about Macs.

Nothing, it's a phishing scam, it wanted his bank details so it could fleece his account
If he didn't give any details he's nothing to worry about
If he offered his details he needs to contact his bank asap

Report email for phishing. Delete web cache and do a spyware and virus scan.

You'll be fine it's everywhere stuff like that now ..

I once bought a macbook that was full of ransomware from new.
