Lnb splitting

Hi All

Just installed my first box, openbox v8s, very pleased, the site has been very helpful (esp reapers guides)

I'm looking at getting another for another room, however my lnb options are either running another coax to dish or splitting
at first box, which would be easier install.

Can anyone recommend a good splitter or even if this is a good idea?

Also is practical to get separate sub/line for this box or will it work with the same codes as other
box (same external ip like kodi used to be)

thanks

gaz

not sure if this is of any use to you but i have sort of split my cable. one going into my openbox and one going into the back of my freesat telly and they both work fine as well as recording which is fine.
as for multiroom for same line not sure.
have you looked at the LNB, i read somewhere that the newer sly installs were quad LNBs.

Thanks for reply, yes it's quad but all in use, until I ween my wife off sky! (Damn that box)

i might give the splitter a go, only a couple of £££. Otherwise it's ladders off

splitter will not run 2 boxes powered up at the same time, they will send to high a voltage to lnb, could cause lnb damage and also may blow the box. to do it properly you have to run a new cable for each box from the lnb. one cable = one tuner. as alcable as already mentioned. :boom:

Yes only a couple of £££ for a splitter, but it could end up costing you a new lnb and box, plus BIG bust up with her in doors when you have no signal to any of your boxes.
