Jedi EPG Setup

Is there an idiots guide somewhere for the old Jedi plugin? I have put my providers m3u file into the E2 (Zgemma H2S) box and can get bouquets of iptv channels but the epg does not work at all. Using the same m3u file in a smart iptv app will give me some epg info. The provider also provides an https url for a generic epg for some of the channels....but I have not needed that in the past, on the smart app.
What am I doing wrong? Firstly how to do it on my Zgemma, without the extra URL?

And if that still does not work where do I put the https url to try that?

I'm out of touch and exasperated!

Help!!

Edit...solved now...changed suppliers and all works well on test so far. Many thanks.

I can do either, put the iptv list as a text file in etc/enigma2/jediplaylists/playlists text...should I also add the epg URL in there as well?
Or, at the moment I have the m3u file in jediplaylists but that does not seem to give me any epg info.
I am also not sure what to do in the Jedi app settings. Do I need to point that at the epg...or change settings in there?
Also the E2 epg app....not sure how to set that for IPTV epg....it's working ok for my freeview and freesat channels on Rytec..
I'm stuck!

Just add the m3u URL in the playlists.txt

It should look like this but with your details

Code:
http://host:port/get.php?username=uuuu&password=pppp&type=m3u_plus&output=ts

Create bouquets then check epg importer to see if your provider shows in epg importer tick it then run RPG impoerter

Many thanks. I will try that this evening. My account does not have a username or password. It is either a very long text file I create myself from my provider's site or I use an m3u file which I download from the same site... both work and give me the iptv channels.
Will start from scratch as you say.... I got a bit confused as to ticking "use providers epg" or some such...

I think you might not be able to add epg. I think jedimakerxtream only uses epg for playlists URL as above this generates the epg file for epg import. M3u file or Url probably won't work.

You may be right. I have ordered a new box. Hopefully a newer version of Openatv may have other options as far as iptv and working epg. I think Jedimaker has been discontinued now on newer boxes.

Great. Many thanks, I will give it a go later tonight.

As formandvoid has said have you gone into epg importer and ticked the box with your providers name and then green button to save.
Exit back and press blue button sources, scroll down to provider and press yellow button to manually load epg.
What image are you using on your box?
What version of Jedimaker are you using?

Also in epg settings where is your storage located?
Menu,setup,epg,epg settings ....see pic atteached.

I am using Openatv 6.3 at the moment...new box coming next week so will put 7 on that.
JediMaker is V6.11
Epg is stored on an 8GB USB stick, recordings on a 2TB SSD.
I will start from scratch with this...there should be at least some epg info as there is using the same m3u file in a smart iptv app.
Thanks for your help.

Openatv 6.3 is old and outdated and so is that version of jedi.
Maybe start a clean flash and use latest plugin version from downloads.
During setup (openatv) remember to create a password in settings if you intend to ftp to box.

Just a bit of info if anyone is using Jedi, KiddaC has just released Bouquet Maker Xtream which is now in the Download feeds and that will replace his Jedi plugin..Using it with Open Atv 7.3 at the moment and it is very good.

My old Zgemma box will not handle anything newer. I have a new Octagon coming next week and will try again with that. EPG is not populating at all

still will not add any epg events. Have tried with the IPTV providers text file and the m3u file. I can get IPTV bouquets but no epg info at all.
The provider did give me a separate url for epg. Maybe I can put that in the lists somewhere...

Your old zgemma would handle anything newer i,e. openatv 7.3 but it cannot handle newer stream types i.e. fhd uhd . As for your epg problems your provider must have epg_id information in their playlist if not you will never get epg unless you add epg_id's manually.

Normally your epg is linked with your m3u. In epg importer do you see jedimaker Xtream epg listed and you should see your m3u below that and it should be ticked. You can input an address manually in jedi settings if you need to.
As urie said your H2s will not handle the newer streams though but it should work on most. Maybe time for a box upgrade.

yes you are right. I am still hoping to get IPTV epg going on this old Zgemma. It's been a great box for years and I want to keep it as a back up. But it won't play the 265 streams so I won't bother reflashing to 7.4. I tried but it won't do it with the online flash tool. Never mind. I will try again next week with my new box. I might have to find a new supplier as well. The one I have gives no support and epg is patchy at best.
