Is Zap2it completely dead or is there an alternative ?

Apologies if this is the wrong place to ask but I've become slightly obsessed with getting Live TV and DVR working in Jellyfin on a Synology NAS (DS224+) without using Schedules Direct, which doesn't work properly.

All of the github scripts I've seen all use zap2it as a way of farming EPG data but the site itself has been down for a long time and I wanted to ascertain, once and for all, if it was truly dead and - if so - if there's a usable alternative ?

Thanks

Zap2it has been unreliable for a while, so it’s best to move on. Try WebGrab+Plus for DIY scraping or a paid service like Epg.best for reliable EPG data. Xteve also works well as middleware with Jellyfin. Check GitHub for updated community scripts too.

Zap2it is down, so for Jellyfin EPG data, try WebGrab+Plus, regional XMLTV providers, or integrate with TVHeadend. If using IPTV, many providers include EPG data. For custom solutions, consider TitanTV or OpenEPG projects.

Thankyou both. While my skillset isn't the best, I did manage to blunder my way to getting xTeve working in Docker on my Synology but I couldn't seem to get it to actually do anything. I also managed to get TVHeadend installed and running on my NAS but, again, couldn't seem to crack the learning curve and get it to do anything meaningful.

I'm interested in WebGrab+Plus though so I'll have a look.

I'm using a Zgemma Zedo H8.2H twin tuner box as my source with the HDHomerun plugin running on it. It works well with Plex and Emby but not with Jellyfin.

Well WebGrab+Plus doesn't work on Synology, TitanTV appears to be US only - although, to be fair, I never actually stated I was in the UK in the original post so that's on me. OpenEPG is wildly out of date.

Looks like I might have to try TVHeadend again (again).

Since WebGrab+Plus isn’t an option on Synology, TVHeadend might be your best bet after all. Try pairing it with xTeve for better Jellyfin compatibility. There are some solid guides out there don’t give up mate.

I appreciate that, thankyou.

I've actually just found out that there's apparently an ongoing bug in Jellyfin which has caused Schedules Direct to initiate a denial-of-service defence as there's something which has been hammering their servers so this may well be the explanation of why this has been happening.

But i'll have a look again at TVHeadend and xTeve. I did get both (kind of) running on my Synology but I'll see if i can look around for more guides.

Cheers for the update, That Jellyfin bug makes sense now. Definitely worth having another crack at TVHeadend and xTeve there are some decent guides floating about. You’re nearly there, mate

Happy to help.
