Is the dish too small?

Hi, so I was trying to set up an old sky dish (zone 2) to pick up 0.8w/1w, but I seemed to only really get horrizontal channels, nothing on vertical. I had no lock on intersat either. Similar issue with 5w.(Yes, bracket is 100% level)

I suspect the dish is perhaps to blame as it is only 60cm in height I think.

Would the Triax TD78 be a good option to pick those missing channels up? Or would I need to go higher to the TD88. I already have a technomate 0.1db lnb.

I will say yes its too small as your trying to get a far away sat and usually a 1 metre dish is needed.

Yes I agree 1m minimum for perfect reception especially in bad weather unless you live in Scotland or North East a smaller dish like triax 88cm would be fine.

Might you suggest a heavy install motor and lnb to use on motorised,or maybe a wave torroidial?
