Is refreshing Tivimate on Fire Stick slow?

Scotch

Hello, I'm kinda new to this and ive been experiencing very slow EPG refreshing (like 10 mins) with Tivimate on a 3rd gen Fire Stick TV is it just me or is the app not properly optimized for the device? Or is the firestick just crap for this? 🤔

Yeah, I've tried clearing it and it still takes a lot mins, but on my smartphone it refreshes under two minutes (with the same playlists and everything). I guess it's probably the FireStick hardware.

If you don't have anything inportant on your Firestick, maybe do a factory reset on and reinstall Tivimate, see if that makes a difference.
But yes as far as the Firestick I wouldn't recommend anything less than the newest 4K Max model.

The 3rd gen FS is an old device. I’d clear all apps off it that you don’t use and see if that improves anything. Got to remember that FS’s are only really good for two years. I advised to be using a FS4K nowadays. The FS4K Max is exactly the same spec I believe as a FS4K but just has more storage space for apps.

I've got firesticks and shields, firesticks(4k) take a matter of seconds to refresh without exception and that's with different subs, wireless only slightly slower than wired, think the problem could be server related

Fire TV Stick 4K Max is our most powerful streaming stick - 40% more powerful than Fire TV Stick 4K, with faster app starts and more fluid navigation. Includes support for next-gen Wi-Fi 6 to enjoy smoother 4K streaming across multiple Wi-Fi 6 devices.

I stand corrected! My bad manic01. I’ve been given diff information

If you are intending to replace that old firestick , you might consider the Onn 4K max , more powerful box for similar price.

I bought a couple last year in the states $50 each. Work fine in UK without VPN . Am back over in may if you fancy one
No, not a device that would suit my needs, but thanks for the offer.
So you don’t need a vpn to initially set them up at first outside of the US?
I have seen it mentioned elsewhere that’s all.
