Inline battery for motorcycle alarm

Hi All
Would anyone know if I could put a rechargeable battery between my bike battery and the actual alarm unit ( data tool evo) it doesn't have its own back up battery ,so if someone where to get to the bikes battery the alarm wouldn't work, I've not long bought it without realising no back up battery, any suggestions??
TIA

Could you not put a 12v battery inline between the alarm and the battery and take a feed from the voltage regulator that feeds the main battery to the smaller battery?

I'm not sure, my thinking is that the current/voltage would be too high , usually smaller batteries are charged at low current and voltage

The Data tool evo has an internal PP9 rechargeable battery.

Ive 2 motorbikes both have that alarm, both caused serious drain problem on the bikes actual battery when the internal battery got poor at holding charge after replacement all was good.

I do keep both bikes on battery tenders as well.

You may have a different model to mine , the one I have is the self install one no back up battery in them , interesting tho I wonder if I open it up there are parts "missing"
