so i set up the share but it didnt ask me for a username or passwordtake a look at Sharing HDD between two Zgemma h2s's - How to , it is for sharing one hdd between two boxes but you should get an idea of the settings you need
i am unsure of what they mean too, maybe its some sort of way its formatted, verything mildly important in my house already has a static ip so it couldnt be that and thew user name and password are correct and the share is also setup correctlyI'm not a networking expert sorry, I only wrote the thread above based on how I managed to do it on my setup, my current mount is as

along with username/password if I scroll down. I noticed the Mount options are different but I really don't know what they are LoL
it was already enabledGo into Network Mount Manager and make sure there are is no red cross on the image of the drive at the left side under mounted/unmounted.
If there is a red cross, just highlight the mount, press okay and green to save, overwriting existing mount.

Your server IP doesn't look like a local one. It is usually 192.168.*.***
Login to your router and see what IP it has been allocated.
