How does IPTV work and Should I use VPN

Hi all,

As we get closer to the new footy season I am looking to alternatives since all Sky channel were blocked. I have looked into IPTV but I was hoping someone could explain how it works, this is just out of interest. Also I wanted to find out if I should use VPN when accessing? Seem to have got mixed answers on this.

I am hoping to just reuse my zgemma 2S if possible.

You may struggle with the HD channels on your s2 box but SD should be fine,Some run it ok with a very fast broadband connection,Iptv is streamed down your phone line

Is VPN needed due to the streaming? I read somewhere that the individual channels are streamed from different servers so its not necessary?

i dont see the point in it

vpns are more for servers that are blocked or you want to hide what you are doing

I run a vpn, I also have curtains on my windows both are used to stop people watching me

Will ISPs not be locking down on this like they have torrent sites too?
Also heard that VPN can cause some issues with IPTV?

With VPN, depends whether the provider has blocked your VPN IP address...

If using VPN for IPTV, you're best off getting a dedicated IP for your VPN. However, this is an extra cost with VPN providers...

The Isp doesn't really care as long as you are their customer, as for Vpn, any decent provider will be OK with you using a vpn
