Help with Edison os mini install please

Hi, Bit of a noob that has just purchased an Edison OS Mini, have vm Internet and am hoping to purchase and install a cable line. Do I need to purchase the line and it just a case of following bees' guide to setting up an e2 combo box or can I do that first before buying one? Also I don't have a hdd for recording does this affect the settings at all?? Thanks for any advice greatly appreciated!

You can set it up without a line but there only a few fta channels on cable you will need at least a USB stick in the box to hold the epg

Thanks for your reply! I do now have a test line, didn't realise that bit would be so easy! I do have a usb so that's great I'll give it a crack thanks!
