H9 Twin Record Issues

Hi All,

Just setup a H9 Twin for my bro and he's having issues recording.

ATV 6.3
Wooshbuild
Internal HDD
Installed updates.

When trying to record either Freesat or IPTV channels, we get the Blue Circle in top left or screen. Box then does nothing. We have to manually restart the box.

I've checked all settings in the record menu and its setup correctly, as per my box settings.

The HDD works fine, as I can download files from e2istream to it. Which works great.

Only thing I can think of trying next is to re initialise the HDD, check the mounts and make sure its ext4.

Anything else I can try???
 
There were issues for recording on the zgemma H9 range and not sure if they were ever fixed.
The H9 has a different chipset to the rest of the zgemma range and i have seen numerous complaints re openatv and recording both with builds using WB and GROGBUILD so it looks like an openatv issue.
It is still an issue with just openatv only on the box.
No idea if the issue is there with VIX.

Ah right ok, so if its an issue with OpenATV then I guess we just have to wait for an update.

Thanks for the help I'll try Vix, when ever I set to record I never watch as I've got three separate boxes so the one that's recording only does that.
 
i am using open vix, its stable but it still will not record iptv, looks like i have to wait for an update.
 
Hi .i`m also getting recording problems on h9 combo i have a few iptv providers and every time i try to record something i also get circle in top left of screen ,i am using 64gb 3.0 brand new usb. any help would be good .thanks . i am using vix newest image i also tried recording on pureE2 image also pli image same problems .
 
Hi, just wondered if ther was ever an update to this , got a Twin last week to replace an ageing VU+solo2 and have exactly the same issues as the OP, only difference now is i'm at the lastest 6.4, known good hdd / wooshbuild setup, can happily record on VU+ with same iptv supplier so deffo related to the Zgemms

I thought it was related to the default timer type being set wrongly , i think default should just be "record" which it I and workS on the VU+

Any info would be greatly appreciatted, also struggling with picture "jumping" on FTA channels but thats another story

Noticed there are a few different models and specs saying different usb port port as most have 2.0 and the odd one has a 3.0 which might mean supported image might be for different box?
Vu solo2 original box still hard to beat.

yip had the Vu for 3 years but struggles with 6.4 and running out of memory, thats why i went with the Twin, guesss i've just made a poor choice of replacement as i'vm also seeing like micro-stuttering on FTA channles that i can't get rid of either, had HS2 before the Vu but that was a while ago.....

I've had my h9 twin for over a year now with no problems with recordings,I use a SanDisk cruzerblade 128gb for hdd,I record the freeview channels but don't record iptv as I use the catch up when required.

If your running out of memory just mount a bigger USB stick.
 
I've got 500gb hdd in the rear slot, it was previously on the VU, mounted as /media/hdd, recording fta and decoded chanels works fine from their epg, im using the same iptv provider as previously worked on the VU, if i go into the IPTV epg , lets you setup for record but as soon as this happens, it hangs , where normally it would let you exit and continue,

Not heard of the solo2 running out of memory as like any box overload it with too much crap it will give issue and always use vix.

Flash it with vix and run willobuild and you will not have those issues recording

it was really noticable under 6.4 , image was ptretty paired down and i do a clean build avery couple of weeks,
