Firestick Blocks

Just recently,
My stick has been completely blocked by Amazon, I use VPN. Its happened twice now.

Everything stops working, the stick is completely useless as Amazon blocks the interenet IP connection. Only way round it is to delete WiFi connection on the stick and reset everything, change VPN location and then it works fine again.

Anyone else experienced this?

Amazon don't block your Internet connection.
Your isp will occasionally if EPL football is on. A vpn should stop this occurring though.

The whole firestick is blocked, no other device in the house has its Internet connection stopped. This only happens when i have the VPN turned on and im watching something.

The WiFi is connected but when you go into settings it's status says "not available"

Something is blocking, it's either Amazon or my ISP when they detect I'm using VPN

Amazon will not block the stick

It's not a big brand VPN but I've had no issues with it for months. This has randomly just started.

I've changed country location again see how long it lasts. After watching IPTV and closing it down should the VPN be turned off or just leave it connected?

Ah, I see. Depends on the specific VPN but most allow tunneling between specific apps, ie, Tivimate/Smarters.

I'd keep a note on your phone or something to track which countries perform best during events of interest to you as sometimes they just get overloaded. Although I always keep my VPN on, I often switch between faster servers relative to my location through speed tests. I once got blocked through accessing Netflix through my home server but logged in fine using Canada lol

Set the VPN to auto connect.

Who is your ISP?
Have you disabled the nanny settings on your broadband account?
How does it behave if you don't use a VPN at all?
I've never used one and never been blocked

Try a free trial with another VPN to see if you have the same issue.
Nord and Express do a 30 day trials and Surfshark do a 7 day trial.
This will rule out if it is an issue with your existing VPN.

EE is the ISP.

If I don't have the VPN connected it sometimes works okay when no football is on, but most of the time the channels won't load, not even VOD. It's strange. Never used to need a VPN but now it seems to be more regularly.

Your iptv provider could be blocked.
Have you tried a different sub?

Is it a new firestick?

4k stick.

I'm thinking it's the ISP causing the issues. No the provider is fine, have family members using it and they have no problems.
Your broadband settings may be wrong.
Having them set too high, block adult content, block harmful or malicious software etc will interfere with iptv viewing.
Set them to OFF and see how it goes

Have you tried the vpn on your phone to see if it works correctly and not losing connection like you are experiencing on your Firestick?
What’s the vpn called?
You shouldn’t lose connection when using a vpn unless your are using a kill switch that is triggered.

I’ve had this before and found the problem was that the VPN was auto connecting and causing some sort of clash. Before you do anything else, go into your VPN app and disconnect, switch off auto connect if it’s enabled. Now go ahead and reconnect your WiFi network, the VPN should no longer be clashing. Once the connection is back, now try connecting to the VPN manually.
