Connecting Venton DVB-C tuners to VM

Hello all, I'm on the verge of buying a Venton Unibox HD Eco+ but I've got a question that I can't seem to find the answer to in any of the threads & was hoping somebody might be able to help.

I want to get the dual cable tuner (DVB-C) option so I can view (via a nline server gift) the HD channels, that you don't get with the satellite route. I've currently got VM broadband only (not the TV).

So my question is this:

Is it a case of inserting a VM approved 2-way splitter in the cable between my wall socket & router, so I've now got 2 feeds (1 to the router & 1 to Venton tuner A), then use the supplied loop cable from tuner A to tuner B?

Or do I need a 3-way splitter (1 to the router, 1 to tuner A & 1 to tuner B)?

I hope that I've explained it clearly enough!

Thanks in advance

Sorry, I've just noticed I've posted this in the 'Satellite' section instead of the 'Cable' section - my apologies!

Some boxes have a loop function as you have mentioned others don't. So that option is open to you if the box has that facility.
I would just get a three way splitter to be honest and stick with the tried tried and tested methods, they are only a couple of quid.

I went away from using £5 splitter kits off Ebay, the patch leads fall to bits.

I now use RG6 patch leads with a proper crimped on end, much better quality for an extra couple of quid.

I take it though that if you use the loop function, from one tuner to another, then that will prevent simultaneous channel watching/recording?

I saw a post somewhere from Cactikid which contained an eBay link to a VM compatible 3-way splitter, so I'll order one of those & get the RG6 patch leads you mentioned, cheers.

On a side note, I found a thread that contained a lot of useful info provided by yourself & others that I wish I'd found beforehand. Unfortunately I can't post the link because I haven't had enough posts but it was in the 'General Cable TV' section titled 'help needed please'.

@ bees so you buy all in one cable with ends ,wondered about the pliers for diy with a big squeeze lol

hmm help needed which of the 1000 posts+ was it lol

I know, not the most helpful of titles! It was 6 or 7 pages back & it's a shame because there was a lot of good info in there but no-one will bother to click on it.

That surprises me. I think my best bet is to get the Venton, fit the VM 2-way splitter that I've already got, get 2 short lengths of RG6 cable with crimped f-connectors (1 to router & 1 to tuner A) & use the loop cable first off. If it doesn't work well I'll have to go down the 3-way splitter route with seperate feeds to each tuner.
