Cable interference to my satellite only channels

Hey,

I recently picked up a "Technomate TM-Nano-SE M2 PLUS". Through these last 5 days, I've been experiencing issues with my satellite only channels (my box has a single DVB-S and Twin DVB-C tuner). Everytime I try and watch a satellite only channel, the picture becomes distorted. However the issue goes away as soon as I disconnect the cable line.

So my theory is some sort of interference is going on. I've had the engineers come round this morning and have had them change all the cabling up to my communal dish, but the issue persists. I've connected my satellite lines back to my TM Nano 2 Super and my original Sly HD Box, and I see no issue.

Does anyone know of a way for me to resolve this issue?

I've attached a screenshot of what I'm experiencing.

Any help is appreciated,

This is a weird one isn't it... I am not familiar with the Technomate receivers so not sure what to suggest apart from checking F connections on all wires and maybe re-do them and see how it goes.

Engineer replaced all cables for me, even the ones I purchased off eBay. Sat only works when cable is disconnected, and cable works no matter what.
 
What about the v*rgin cable - was that changed too? and is it going straight from the wall into the Technomate?

Vermin cable has never been an issue (I've tried it with two different cables), I can watch that with satellite connected or not. It's the cable input that is the problem. I really think it's something to do with the box, maybe some sort of interference is occurring when I connect the vermin cable into the box. The issue doesn't occur for all channels but for some e.g. &TVHD, Bloomberg HD etc.

I can get it replaced, in talks already with the seller. Just hoping it's an easy fix.

Seller tested the box and has found no issues, he has even replaced the box entirely and tuners inside. However the issue is still happening.

I've purchased pre-made RG6 Cables to replace my vermin cables, I've purchased a variable attenuator and I still get the issue above.

Does anyone know what the cause may be?
 
Are cables going straight from your dish into your receiver or do you have a wall plate?

We have a communal dish (I'm guessing thats the wall plate?).
The channel that's distorted (&TVHD) works perfectly if I disconnect my coaxial cable. All Sly Channels are being received.
Could this be because of the dc pass through from the vermin cable?

EDIT: I think i've found the fault, going to give it 48 Hours. I'll update this with the fix (if it happens to be the fix).

I'm in total confusion as to what the fault is, however it's sort of sorted????
Basically the way I fixed this issue, I had to reconnect the technetix 1-way isolator virgin supplied to my splitter (I purchased off eBay), then connect one of my satellite cables to my Sony TV DVB-S input.

So if I disconnect one satellite cable, the channels start to distort. This includes one cable that isn't even connected to the damn box.

Some janky ass method. Through the last couple of days the only time I saw distortion was at like 1 in the morning but for a few seconds.
Again these where on channels that do not require any lines e.g. NHKWorldHD, CBS Drama, &TVHD.

I will try and get someone out to see what the actual issue is, hopefully a virgin engineer can be swayed with a bit of cash to fix my setup :LOL:

Okay just read this thread, thought I'd try my hand at trying to find the actual fault.

Can someone tell me if this setup is correct?

No, it's not right - usually the 1 in 1 out is inside the white box but it's not needed if you're using the 2 way splitter as that will do the same job ... you can remove the 1 in 1 out and connect straight to the 2 way.

I'd also try another cable in place of that mass produced "gold plated" one.
 
I would be careful replacing the Isolator my friend had vm installed earlier in the year with both TV and internet and even the engineer added the isolator in the box then the splitter after that so they must do it for a reason.

I would like to query a VM tech on this tbh as i've checked the specs for both and apart from one being 1 in 1 out and the other being 1 in 2 out, they have the same capabilities and protection. I'm wondering if it's just common practice to fit the singular one incase as some point, they revert to only 1 device.

I should've detailed my response, the input is on the same side as the outputs.
 
Ah I get it, you can get the ones where the input is on the other side but as soon as they come up for sale on eBay they sell out rather quickly ... you could get that one and just turn the box upside down so all wires enter / exit the box at the top.
 
Yeah should be fine they're a good make ... Technetix are the splitters that VM fit as standard though and i've never seen them fit a 5-1218mhz one before so it's a strange combo and strange how it's been set up too instead of the 1 in 1 out in a box on the wall.
