hi just trying to set up a general topic about first time setups on the blade 8000, i have read people having initial setup issues with connecting to a line. i get my box today and will be setting up (first time setting up any sat box) so ill keep my posts here if i have any problems. Reference for any new box owners. cheers.
 
When you get it running why not post a bit of a guide, there isn't much on the BM8000s,

If you need any pointers have a look at the BM7000s guide to set up the sat side then use a blind/ bruteforce scan for the cable side

The firmware you need is here
 
As far as I know the 109p version is the only working version with 9991 option
which works on the cable side. This is for the BM8000s.

Not heard of anything, blade don't update the firmware that much
once the bugs are ironed out and it's working, they tend not to mess with it.
 
thanks for the firmware post, yeah ill post any issues and how easy i find the initial setup. firmware is on the stick ready to go, i also have a line so things being well i should be up and running soon. hurry up post man.

Do you know the basic process for setting up the blade ?

It's for the BM7000s but yours should be similar.
 
thanks bees, as you have posted that i dont realy need to write my process. the box arrived 10 mins ago and now ready to input details, firmware and channel scan done no probs so far. just one thing is there a channel list for the 8000. thanks again
 
The BM5000s and BM7000s has a "blade online" facility which will load
a channel list into your box, it will be sorted into groups, you will probably also need to attach a USB stick and download the EPG separatly,
It will get stored on there.

Sometimes you need to switch the box off, insert the stick, boot up the box in order for it to see the stick.
 
hi bees, after doing a channel scan it puts channels all over the shop, i assume i need to sort these out and it also scans multiples of channels. i have about 6 channel 4's i like ch 4 but not that much.if this is the case ill just plod along. and my set up is complete all working thanks for your help. i have used protocol N and this worked first time. thanks for your help
 
You should have a "group" button on your remote.

Then you can choose, sport, films, kids etc.

Sounds like you are using the "All" selection in the groups which just dumps everything in that section including duplicates.

Or you have scanned direct from the sat instead of using the blade online channel list.
 
Just trying to suss out a Blade BM8000 on cable - firmware out of the box is on 1.36 - do I need to back it off back to 1.09, use the 9991 code and re-scan? Any pointers would be great - thanks in advance.... desperado to get some decent Sports channels back after binning my old Kryptview A780

Think I'm moving forward..... re-flashed with 1.09 and can get 9991 menu - where can I get an ID and info for my cline? VM cable,

lads, where do l get the latest firmware for cable for blade 8000 and where do l install it
 
Hi there all does anybody know does the blade 8000 work with satellite dish and normal Cline for sly
