audio sync setup

so on a couple of images i am trailing e.g openTR, they have "audio sync setup" in plugins. never seen/used this before, what is it for ? and how do you set it up or adjust it ?or just leave it as it is ( which seems to make it superfluous?)

p.s prob should have been in e2 plugins section sorry

Never needed to use it but is when their lips are closed and you hear a voice you know its out of sync , i just do a reboot and it fixes things so back to normal .

yeah i just change channels that usually fixes it but i was curious as to if it was a permeant fix or to stop it happening at all, must be some use for it ?
by lack of response nobody seems to use or know how to use it.
