Have never used an APK file before so looking for some help please.
I have a new Redmi phone and would like to install Samsung Notes on it. I use this app on my Samsung tablet. Cannot download from Google Playstore (get a message saying it is incompatible)??
Have installed APK Pure, the Samsung app is available in their library and I seem to have downloaded and installed it but it won't open from the shortcut. I think there is something wrong with the settings or permissions.
Any help would be appreciated.

Try going to your files on the phone. Click apk and it may say this file type is harmful. Allow permissions, and should be good to go. I have Hawawi and Honour phones here both useing all my old Samsung apps, apk files... Paul

Have you Enable Unknown Sources:

Go to Settings > Apps > Special app access > Install unknown apps.
Select the app (like APK Pure) that you used to download the APK and enable Allow from this source.

Thanks for the reply. I haven't changed anything yet but my settings menu (android 14) is slightly different. It's Apps - manage apps - APK Pure - App permissions.
At present all permissions are turned off, you turn them on via the 3 dot menu and it's either all permissions on/off which make me nervous. Can I turn the permissions on for a few minutes to get the app installed and then turn them off again - or does it need to be permanently on. Wish I could just buy the app.
Thanks again for your help

You can temporarily enable the permissions needed for the installation and usage of Samsung Notes. Here’s how to do it:

Enable Necessary Permissions:

Go to Settings > Apps > Manage apps > APK Pure > App permissions.
Enable the permissions that Samsung Notes might need, such as storage, while you're installing and using it.
Install Samsung Notes:

With the permissions enabled, try launching Samsung Notes.
Use the App:

Once the app is installed and you’ve confirmed it’s working, you can go back to the permissions settings.
Revert Permissions:

If you prefer, you can turn off permissions again after confirming that the app is functioning properly. However, note that if the app needs those permissions to function fully, you may encounter issues later.
Typically, it’s a good idea to leave permissions on for the app if you plan to use it regularly. You can always adjust settings based on your comfort level and the app’s requirements.

Many thanks for the advice again. Going out now but will try this later. Not too concerned about leaving Samsung Notes permissions running, its the APK Pure that concerns me

First port of call. App is on it OK but it says it is not compatible with my phone Redmi 13 I believe approx 3 months old???

It won't work
It doesn't work, don't know why, thought all android stuff was open source and not depending on who originally wrote it?

Have you tried to setup it as APK
Going to try this afternoon - will let you all know

Why?

UPDATE
Still no further on. Here's what I have done
1 Deleted the Samsung Notes APk
2 Went back into APK Pure and allowed all permissions
3 Reloaded Samsung Notes APK and enabled all SN permissions
4 Done a complete clean of the phone, and a full restart
Still won't run the app, it just flashes up for a second. I've run out of ideas but thank you all for your efforts
I believe latest revision stopped it

But someone said this worked
Download Samsung notes app on redmi phone from bling.
Export all notes from Samsung to Redmi storage
From the redmi phone, using Estrong file explorer app, select all note files (.sdox) and click share to samsung note app.

Pure Apk claim to alway have the latest version of an app on their site. So you would imagine that someone there tests that it is workable

Doesn’t look like it works on non Samsung phones from what I have read on Reddit.
Just tried to download the app from Playstore on my wife Google Pixel phone, same message again - not compatible with your phone. Not much point in having an app on Playstore if its not compatible with other Android phones. Is this a new thing, apps only being compatible with certain brands?
Thanks everyone, looks like I'm stuck with Google Keep

Samsung have the biggest global market share out all the phones manufacturers.
There will be other apps that only work on certain brands of phones as well.
