Alt providers to Virgin

Am leaving Virgin finally as they won’t give me just broadband at a decent price and have no need for tv/landline. What other uk providers are good for gaming/IPTV and customer support?

Virgin support was terrible but thinking about BT, Sky or Plusnet. Do any of them have restrictions on their routers?

Do you have the Fibre optic boys around your way ? YouFibre and the likes, most offering very good prices and speed to more than rival Virgin.

I would 2nd that if you have a fibre optic provider in your area then hands down best alternative..Great down/up speeds and best prices...in most cases no price hikes for 24 month contracts..best alternative to virgin i found ..

I just got 250 bb inc stream box only on VM £20.20 18 months deal, just told them couldnt afford the £27.20 they were charging which was about to increase to £52.20, spent 30 mins in total on whatsapp first deal they offered and I accepted as thought it was fair never tried to haggle lol

I am currently on 250mb VM was paying £24 but went up to £26.11 with the price increase.
Hopefully will cancel when deal is up and see if they ring back with an offer.
The speed is plenty for us.
You got a great deal.

I have choice of virgin or Bt Openreach so any of the providers overlay services for Openreach with full fibre. Looking at 250mb plus.

Virgin offered me £60/mo for bb only 350mb or £49/mo with tv channels and sky sports 🤔

Good deal that.
I just used WhatsApp +44 7803 089684
I was told Sunday 8am was best time to call and that's when I did, I was just starting last month of my contract
After passing security check and usual usage questions @8.20 the offer was made of £20.20 18 month contract.

On money saving expert VM are offering for new customers 250m
£30.50 a month plus £75 bill credit which makes it £26.34 a month 18 month contract.
You could give your 30 days notice and see what the Retention team phone back and offer.
If it doesn’t match the price above or beat it, you could say you want to cancel quoting the deal above.
Then sign up in somebody else’s name within your household
for the deal above or similar.
They always have deals on for new customers.
They can’t stop somebody within your household signing up for a new contract well they haven’t in the past anyway.

I pay £67 for 1Gb down and 60Mb up. They offered me the full bundle of TV with Sports + Movies, O2 sim with data and 1Gb internet for £99. I'm out of contract early next year and looking to try and get internet down to around £40. They really want to try and tie you in long term with an O2 SIM

Yeah I lost my rag with them after an hour in the phone and being cut off twice so went through retentions and best offer was £49. Gave notice but not heard back so gonna switch to someone else. Just wondered if sky might be one to avoid as seem one of the cheapest for 500mb

I had Sky for years at my old house. Service was good, no problems

if your looking to leave virgin and want a new provider, best looking for one that doesn’t use cg nat if you’re a regular gamer.

One of the best days of my life (yes I am that sad haha) when youfibre boys knocked on my door to tell me they were taking orders! Had 10Gbps with them ever since! Could never go back now 😂
10Gbps - that’s crazy, Datacentre territory. Hard to use all that bandwidth..
