Not sure if I'm in the right category but here goes.
Just enquiring to see if this is possible.
My friend has a shop and his modem is linked up to the shop and all ordering from the suppliers is done through his Eir modem.
His living quarters are upstairs and I have him linked up using a Deco Mesh system.
Eir runs fine in Ireland until you have a problem.
It's very hard to get through to them on the phone
Their call center is outsourced to Pakistan.
Anyway, his modem is giving trouble with loss of internet and either an engineer will call to him or he will be supplied with a new modem.
He wants to get a second modem for upstairs for his own use to be independent.
His speed is around 40mbps.
He is wondering if it's possible to get a Sky modem upstairs.
So, in effect Eir modem for the shop and Sky modem for upstairs.
I'm only guessing but I reckon he will need a second landline for upstairs.
Ideally it might be better to have a Sky modem both downstairs and upstairs as it's very hard to get a problem sorted with Eir when things do go wrong.
