Do you think sky will drop their satellite broadcasts anytime soon and push everyone to migrate to stream?
Nah they will see out the lease on Astra2, but as we get closer to 2027 / 28 I do expect them to either start removing channels from sat, or only add new ones to stream.
Comcast over paid for Sky and are struggling. This is just the start of the job cuts. Expect to see more in other departments, like technical support for satellite boxes.
They'll still be getting "brown envelopes" as part of the deal
The quality of Sky stream is really good, I got a black Friday deal when changing from BT to Sky broadband, !that still works out cheaper than the BT broadband on its own.
Streaming VOD through Netflix/Disney in 4k etc works great.
The TNT Sports app and Sky Stream are superb for 4K streams
interesting.. can you tell the quality difference between a 4k / FHD sat stream?
I’m not sure what you mean by sat stream. But yes, the 4k channels are better quality than the standard channels on a Sky Q box with the Ultra HD pack.
Sports are good on Sky stream, my IPTV streams are pretty good too when I'm forced to use them!
