Failed to get Data from Server when using SurfShark

Every day been getting this error on Tivimate was requesting a new server but then my provider suggested I turn SurfShark off and it's been fine since.

I can't find any info on a workaround , happy to not use a VPN but concerned if my ISP starts throttling my internet what I am meant to do.

Using Firestick and Tivimate, in the sticks so internet is only 14mbps download

VPN slows your connection down so maybe this is why , how much more could they throttle it ? It may get blocked , can you get a better 4g signal ? You may be limited at times due to your location.

That's funny you mention 4g I have a little wireless dongle with a SIM in it and we have to use it a lot after we switched to OneStream as the internet would cut out so often but the dongle worked great. Were going back to Vodafone was thinking of hardwiring the internet this time to help

does your supplier actually allow vpns, some don't?

If you going Vodafone , look at talkmobile , they are on Vodafone network but a lot cheaper , you can get good deals from them on uswitch. If 4g better , get a 4g router that can have an external aerial attached

Google says surfshack has a Camouflage setting. try turn this one, it hides vpn from the site you are connecting to.

I'll give this a try thanks
How to set up Surfshark Camouflage mode
In order to prevent your ISP from realising you're using a stealth VPN, Surfshark’s Camouflage Mode is enabled by default once you connect to one of its servers.

However, it will work only with its OpenVPN protocol. Therefore, you should always be sure that you select the right protocol before starting browsing.

Here's how to switch protocol and connect to an OpenVPN option:

Login to your Surfshark App - it is available for almost every device, including macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS and Android.
Head on the settings - then click Advanced to open the Protocols list.
Choose one of the OpenVPN options - Surfshark Camouflage mode will work with all of them.

so could be the vpn, try another one, proton do a free one.

or try other locations around the world.

I’ve seen quite a few problems with speeds on the free ProtonVPN version when the football is on. I always recommend a paid service to people.

Are SurfShark the only company to do this? I know they are owned by the same company as NordVPN

i meant just use it, to see if the playlist updates. Yes paid vpn is gonna be faster.

Surfshark is not owned by NordVPN. In 2022, Nord Security, the developer of NordVPN, merged with Surfshark. However, Surfshark and NordVPN operate autonomously, relying on separate infrastructures and product roadmaps.
